Tony Blair and John Major have teamed up to give apocalyptic, hyperbolic warnings about leaving the EU and record a new version of ‘Unchained Melody’.

“Tony and I had been looking for a project to work on ever since we worked together on Northern Island, which was a project we both enjoyed enormously,” said Sir John Major at a hastily arranged PA to promote the new single.

“Originally we thought that we’d just issue some absurd, patronising, over-the-top warnings about the possibility of the Northern Ireland peace process failing in the event of Brexit, but we were having so much fun we thought we’d do something else.”

Former bass player for Ugly Rumours and catalyst for the rise of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Tony Blair, takes up the story.

“Originally we had an idea, do you remember John? We had an idea to tour the working mens’ clubs of northern England as a comedy duo, but we decided we didn’t want to be killed so we settled on cutting a single.”

Sir John smiles ruefully.

Blair went on, “Originally we thought perhaps a version of the Final Countdown; you know Europe for Europe, but that seemed cheesy so we settled on a classic.”

Unchained Melody by Major and Blair will be released on 17th June through streaming services, iTunes and all good record shops, whatever they are.
