Saturday evening television in the afterlife now ‘sensational’

The afterlife has announced that their Saturday evening TV schedule is simply sensational.

“Getting Victoria Wood was a big coup for us,” said Peter, a spokesperson for the ministry of communication in the Afterlife.

“She’s already working on a new series of Dinnerladies, and we’re going to have an all-new ‘Audience with Victoria Wood’.”

The shake-up of the Afterlife’s Saturday evening TV schedule began earlier this year with a new series of Terry Wogan’s Blankety-Blank, then came The Paul Daniels Magic Show and only last week the Two Ronnies aired in the 9pm timeslot.

Now with Victoria Wood starting work, it’s fair to say that the Afterlife has the best Saturday evening line-up of any dimension.

“Well, to be honest, I can’t say I was really looking forward to dying,” said 86-year-old Simon Williams from Chelmsford

“But I have always enjoyed Dinnerladies, a lovely programme that always made me chuckle.

“And Paul Daniels too. I saw him a few years back at Cliffs Pavilion over at Southend. Just imagine the magic he could get up to without the constraints of the earthly physical world.”

However whilst many are very happy that the Afterlife has such a strong Saturday evening line-up, it would be nice if they stopped poaching some of the funniest, nicest talents from our dimension.

Now, please.
