UKIP MEP David Coburn has called for more freedom of speech and a cut in ‘political correctness’, before telling everyone that Top Gear should be banned.
Coburn used his Twitter account to tell everyone that “We must challenge the permanently offended every step of the way, I do it constantly, freedom of speech is critical to a healthy democracy” shortly before calling for the heads of the people running Top Gear and saying they should get down on their knees and apologise for expressing their own freedom of speech.
Coburn said that his words had been taken out of context, and clarified that he only wants freedom of speech that he agrees with, not the horrible stuff that people he disagrees with often say and do.
He explained, “I don’t want people to be cowed by political correctness gone mad when they have something to say which directly supports my view of the world.
“But why should people who do things I don’t like be allowed to keep saying things I don’t like? It’s political correctness gone mad.”
“Vote Ukip.”
