After Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to give away 99% of his Facebook shares to make the world a better place, everyone said he could make a start by buying them a new Mercedes.
Zuckerberg has admitted that $500m is probably enough to get by on, and will use the rest of his fortune to make the world a better place for his new daughter’s generation.
Facebook user Simon Williams told us, “The world is full of problems such as disease, poor education, and war – yet many of these problems can be alleviated by putting me in a nice big house of my own.
“For example, addressing famine is expensive and really time-consuming, whereas he can make the world measurably better for me with about a million quid spent on me. Whereas a million barely makes a dent in world famine.
“Honestly, these global issues won’t seem quite so bad when I’m sat inside a nice 5-bedroom detached property somewhere in Surrey.
“This is a real tangible improvement in the world that he can make – today.
“I can give him the number of my estate agent if it would help?”
