MPs expenses don’t pay enough, admits Nigel Farage

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said he will not stand in the Newark by-election, insisting the expenses policy for MPs is far too onerous for him.

The Euro MP once admitted he had claimed about £2m in expenses since becoming a Euro MP, and said that this amount would be almost impossible if he became a member of parliament for Newark.

Farage told reporters, “I have no doubts I would win the by-election, obviously – but why would I want to leave this gravy train of being a Euro MP?”

“The EU is wasteful in extreme, and the best way to show this is to keep taking their money and spending it on things I want to spend it on.”

“I would like to apologise to the closet racists of Newham, and rest assured that we will field an equally likeable candidate in my place.”

“We’re just trying to find one who doesn’t have a Twitter account.”

Farage went on, “Look, I have an important role as a Euro MP, and that is taking money from people I despise, to improve the way I live.”

“Someone has to do it you know.”
