World-record skydiver Felix Baumgartner has announced his next heart-stopping record attempt with his plan to consume eight cans of Red Bull in one evening.

The event will be live streamed to a global audience expected to top 10 million, as Felix attempts to push human physiology to its very limit.

“I am excited, I am nervous – but above all I am hopeful I will come out the other side unscathed,” he told reporters at the press conference to announce the attempt.

‘Red Bull Cardiac’ – as the stunt is being branded – will see Felix drink in a specially constructed bar where he can not be a danger to others.

Red Bull Cardiac Operation Director Simon Williams told us, “Felix has a reputation for attempting things that would terrify a normal human, and this is no different.”

“There’s very little you can do to prepare your body for the onslaught it will face in these conditions.”

“We just strongly recommend you don’t attempt this at home.”

The current record is held by Dave Logan of Stoke, who drank seven Red Bulls on a night out in March last year, and who then spent the evening running round telling everyone his heart was about to explode.

Logan told us, “I look back fondly at it now, but it was touch and go for a while.”

“Felix must be mental.”
