‘I could take on that Anthony Joshua, and Wladimir Klitschko,’ claims man in pub

Man in the pub expert on boxing

A man in a pub has rocked the boxing world to the core after claiming that many leading proponents of the sport are actually ‘nothing’ and that he could ‘take any of them, probably all at once.’

Simon Williams made his claim from the stool at the end of the public bar in Chelmsford’s Spatchcock Arms.

“Yeah, Si, he’d been on the Stella since we opened like usual,” said barmaid Eleanor Gay.

“Normally by about 4pm it could go two ways, he could either walk off home with a cheery wave or he could shit himself and fall off his stool.

“But on this day he got all agitated when these two young lads started talking about some boxing match they’d seen and he just said it.

“He said he could, you know, duff up both Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko.”

A shocked silence descended on the pub.

“I don’t think anyone knew what to say. I mean, we all knew that this was big news, these were top elite sportsmen at the top of their games who get paid millions of pounds, but if Si can take them all on then it makes a mockery of the whole sport, doesn’t it?”

The boxing world has yet to comment on the claims, but it is understood that any kind of professional match featuring Mr Williams and either Joshua or Klitschko is unlikely.

Possibly because, as Mr Williams claimed, “they’d shit it if he met me.”
