England cricketers told by Mums to play nice with Australia, or not at all

England Cricket mums

The England team has been told to stop being so mean to Australia, and to let them have a proper go when they play cricket together.

The team’s mums were forced to step in after England comprehensively humiliated the Australian side in the first day of the fourth Ashes test in Nottingham.

As one mum explained to the players, “Look, we just want you to play nice and have some fun, but doing that to Australia just because you’re much bigger and better than them isn’t very nice, is it?”

“I don’t care if it’s ‘the Ashes mum’ – no child of mine will behave like that.”

“How would you like it if someone did that to you? You wouldn’t, would you?”

At which point a number of England players tried to make the point that they had in fact done that to them pretty recently, but it fell on deaf ears.

“Stop, this is NOT a discussion, we’re telling you to be nicer to the Australian players, or we’ll have their mums on the phone again accusing you of bullying.”

“Then we’ll have to get your Dad out of work and we’ll have to go up to the ICC for a meeting.”

“Do you want that? No, I didn’t think so.”

“So play nicely.”
