Prison service accused of perverting the course of sentencing

After Chris Huhne was released just 60 days into an eight month sentence, the prison service has been accused of perverting the course of sentencing.

Huhne and his ex-wife Vicky Price have been released from prison after serving a fraction of what everyone wanted them to serve.

Voter Simon Williams told us, “What they have done is deliberately change the details of his sentence, and flagrantly disregard the figures handed out by a judge.”

“I hope someone gets sentenced to eight month for perverting the course of these sentences, but then they will probably be out in eight weeks and we’ll have to do this whole thing all over again.”

“No wonder our criminal system is such a shambles.”

Experts have suggested that perhaps we should check that someone else isn’t serving the remainder of Chris Huhnes eight-month sentence.

However most have focussed on the fact that serving a quarter of your sentence is hardly a deterrent against criminal activity.

Williams went on, “Eight months is a long time, eight weeks is a summer holiday.”

“Can you at least promise me that his electronic tag is capable of administering a shock capable of releasing his bladder?”

“Disappointing.”
