David Nalbandian offered lucrative UFC contract

Argentinian tennis player David Nalbandian has been offered the chance to parade his unique style of sportsmanship in the rapidly growing Ultimate Fighting Championship.

UFC officials claim that Nalbandian’s natural instinct to go for the weaknesses of the opposition would stand him in good stead in the rings and cages of the UFC.

Trainer Matt Simons told us, “Some fighters would see an old man sitting down and go for the face, but David’s autopilot told him to kick out at the legs and draw blood going for TKO.”

“You simply can’t teach that kind of killer instinct. You’ve either got it, or you haven’t – and Nalbandian has it in spades.”

“I’m not sure of his weight category, but I suspect we could get him to a championship bout within a year.”

Nalbandian UFC debut

A UFC spokesperson explained that anyone with a valid ticket to the men’s final at Queens Club would be granted free entry to Nalbandian’s debut fight.

“I’m sure they’d enjoy the evening, and seeing his reaction when he finds out there are people out there who kick back.”

“The mental side of the sport is very important, and it will be interesting to see how he reacts when he’s punched squarely on the nose, rather than just when he hits a fluffy yellow ball into a net.”
