Kolo Touré to end his diet in September

Kolo Touré has announced that he will end his six-month weight loss program in September, when he will unveil the slender but shapely waistline of his glamorous new look.

For years, Touré had been celebrated as one of the few fuller-figured footballers who ‘packed some junk in his trunk’ but behind the smile and behind closed doors lay a dark secret.

“I was desperately unhappy,” he revealed in an interview with Heat magazine. “Ever since I was a child, I’d always been a little big-boned because I have bad genes which cause an over-active thyroid.”

“But if I’m honest, I probably over-indulged a little at Christmas and by March, whenever I looked in the mirror, all I could see was this whale staring back at me.”

Bad habits

“Soon I was comfort eating at every opportunity,” Touré continued. “When all the other players were having half-time oranges, I was on three boxes of turkey twizzlers washed down with milk – lots and lots of milk.”

“And as anyone who has been in my position will know – the devil really is in the dairy.”

Since then, Touré has been on a dramatic journey which has led to a breathtaking transformation, seeing him drop from a size 16 to a size 12 and becoming the new face of Ryvita.

“I’m a new man and it’s a new me,” he added. “And you can do it, too – with the help of my fitness DVD, available from September.”

“Because nobody wants to see Ryan Giggs do yoga anymore.”
