Survey finds that men tell more lies than women – what do you think?

Men are more likely to tell lies than women and feel less guilty about it, says a survey of 3,000 people commissioned by the Science museum.

Researchers found that the average British man tells three lies every day, that’s equivalent to 1,092 a year – however the average woman appears more honest, lying just 728 times a year – around twice a day.

We sent our reporters onto the streets to find out what you thought about the true battle of the sexes, the amount of lying each undertakes.

Woman on the Street “Was it a man who presented these results? Well in that case you can hardly believe a word written in that report.”

Delores Swann, Truth Teller

Man on the Street “I find that if you apply the right kind of pressure, people always choose to tell you the truth.  In the end.”

Pavel Krynzxck, Problem Solver

Man on the Street “It might be true that we lie more often, but women’s lies are always bigger.  I might pretend I did the washing up, but for twenty years my wife pretended our children were all mine.”

James Cornell, Dishwasher
